At the start of the series, John Crichton was like a lost puppy, a geek in strange land, a nincompoop. If not for the good graces of Zhaan, Moya’s crew probably would have dumped the disoriented goofball on the first planet they came across. But over time, starting mid-first season, Crichton became a changed man. It could have been the hardship of life on the run, his torture in the Aurora Chair, or perhaps Ben finally figured out how to play the character, but Crichton developed into a complex, darker person. LithiumDoll’s video highlights not the innocent Crichton of old, but the tormented, determined man living with the weight of a universe on his shoulders.

I am such a fan of this brilliant video. John is not just a crazy, funny, joking guy. It is so nice to see someone give a tribute to his darker side, and the clips you chose are perfect. I have always loved this song, and the way it works with the clips is wonderful. Great job!

LD, I can't tell you how much I love this vid. It ranks right up there with In the End and Pompeii as one of my all time favorites. I loved the music so much I went out and bought the Metallica CD. You did an amazing job with the clip choices and effects. As always, your skill amazes and impresses.

Another great job. I love the way it shows how John has evolved through the course of the series. He's no longer the wide-eyed innocent he was when he first arrived in the UT. That's captured perfectly when he pulls a gun on his father. Excellent job matching the pacing of the song and putting effects to the beats.

Ah, Nietzsche is appropiate to reference here. Especially since Aeryn and John have both had a long look into their personal abyss. While I'm not as familiar with some of the final seasons, this video works well showing John's darker side. Plus, always been a fan of this song too, and the lyrics and music work well with the edited clips. Excellent work.

Very powerful song and images; I'm going out on a limb to say that I think this vid actually is your best. It tells the best story of a character's development. Perfect marriage of lyrics and clips. Effects were used sparingly but at just the right time. Loved the way you made the clips fit with the drumbeat. I'm not a fan of "darker side of John" theories but you sold me with this vid. Even so, you still see that the darker side is something he fights against.

It is sad that John has come to be so fierce, driven, and intense--that the UTs have transformed him to be so, yet this video shows something else--that he still has heart and soul and maybe hope.
