This video was inspired by the episode review of John Qixote that was given by Ben Browder at the Burbank convention this year. I was already planning to do a video paralleling Stark/Zhaan with John/Aeryn, but he said something that sparked my imagination, so I went in a slightly different direction than originally planned with this video. Ben said something along the lines of the fact that the good guys aren’t always the good guys from everyone’s perspective. Stark, for one, is not pleased that Zhaan’s death seems to have been in vain - at the time of this episode, she had sacrificed her life so that John and Aeryn could be together – yet by John Qixote they are still very much apart. I created this video in order to explore Stark’s grief over this maddening situation.

Early on, I discovered that I had some trouble conveying my original vision for this video when I posted it as a link at Kansas. I just wanted to say thank you to all of those who commented about the confusing plot and spurred me on to create a better video. This version is as close as I think I can get to my original intention for this video. Some have commented that it seems to be more from John’s POV –if this is your interpretation, well, that’s OK, too – Farscape often leaves many things to our imagination – otherwise we wouldn’t have so much to discuss on the BB’s! As long as you are feeling sad for Stark’s loss by the end, I have done my job. :-)

I just wanted to thank dkev (Dangerous Minds Productions) in particular for his help on this video, and especially for sending me the cleaned up sound file for the opening sequence – you’ve been a great help!

Here are the lyrics to Angel:

Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There’s always some reason
To feel not good enough
And its hard at the end of the day

I need some distraction
Oh, beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
That may be empty
Oh, yeah, weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the Angel
Far away from here
From this stark, cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the Angel
May you find
Some comfort here

So tired of the strait line
And everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
Storm keeps on twisting
Keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you like

It don’t make no difference
Escape one last time
It’s easier to believe
In this sweet madness
All this glory and sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the Angel
Far away from here
From this stark, cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear

You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the Angel
May you find
Some comfort here

You’re in the arms of the Angel
May you find
Some comfort here

Thank you so much for this video. I wish I had the right words to describe why I think it's as good, or as important as I do. Some people tend to forget all that Stark goes through, and just see the manic times, not the brave and loyal ones.

I am so glad to here Ben's take, because honestly that's really how I saw it when I watched the episode.

You did a fantastic job here, in song choice, editing and most importantly mood and message. Bravo.

This video is very setting. I enjoyed the series and much more of the reality associated to life. Zhaan never died, energy is never destroyed- only changed, the most sensitive is on Moya when Zhaan opens up and you see her true form in the radiant light of the solar energy.

Thank you so very much for this vid. I did not get to see all of season 2 or any of seasons 3-4. I heard about Zhann's death and was shaken to the core.

As I watched, I too felt deep sadness and my heart broke and the tears fell. Love her, love her work -- Thank you Virginia Hey/Zhann.

Im new to farscape, Zhaan is my favorite character and i always dream that they bring her back. This video brought a stream of tears, but also gave me hope that someone will see this and be so touched that they bring her back.
Thankyou

Truly beautiful! You have created a masterpiece in my opinion. Zhaan truly was the angel of Moya. Tears are rare for me but every time I see this video atleast one goes down my cheek. You have an amazing talent!

That song always kills me. It makes me think about how things are and how they should be. It fits Zhaan perfectly and also the way Stark felt about her. Stark is the angel too because he was there at the end for Zhaan and both Johns. Very well done and extremely moving, thank you.

Wow. Okay, I know, that's been said already. This vid is incredibly moving and very somber. You captured the flow of the music perfectly and the long fades were used wonderfully. Now I miss Zhaan more than ever.

Great song which really fits the somber mood of this video. Very sad sad scenes in this. Once again excellent selection of scenes that make up the romantic tragedy we know as Farscape. Well done!

Touching and tearful... even though blue, she was still Zhaan... and neither Stark nor the continous flow of red-haired character replacements could ever fill our void. She was our compassion. Our "angel arms".

Wow. The Angel indeed. Beautifully done, AoM! I'm impressed! Great concept to center a vid around, wonderful song to tell the tale, and well-chosen clips to carry it. :) Absolutely beautiful.
