Music from The Scarlet Pimpernal

This video had a very strange evolution. Hank did a vid to another song from the play, "When I Look at You." There was an ensuing discussion where it was bandied around that many songs from this play would make good Farscape videos. Being interested, I went out and picked up the CD. The music is beautiful and sure enough, there are many songs that go very well with Farscape. Hank mentioned that this song would go well with Crais, Aeryn and Crichton. What episode better better shows the interaction of these three than "Green Eyed Monster"?

I'd like to thank Hank for his help in helping me sort out who sang what line in the song since I haven't seen the play. There are basically three vocal parts: Chauvelin, Marguerite and Percy which I have assigned to Crais, Aeryn and Crichton respectively. I tried to keep the focus on the character who was singing. This became a little difficult when they were all singing since there are few scenes that they are all together.

Here's a brief synopsis of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Basically, Marguerite has married Percy, but their marriage is less than happy. It got off to a really bad start. Turns out that Chauvelin is also her former lover. I think this made the character match ups work out well indeed. I really need to find a way to see this play now.

Finally I got my 'Scarlet Pimpernel' CD today, and after listening to the music I had to watch your video again, and again, and again... Love it! This song is so perfect for a Green Eyed Monster video. Great job, LTG. Thank you! Looking forward to see the 'Falcon' vid. :)

Thank you everyone. This was one that came very easily, though matching some of the clips was a little difficult. This was the perfect episode for this song. I got to dig deep and pick some fresh clips. Lomer, stay tuned for "Falcon.." It's been submitted and I did it as an early season 1 Crais vid. Eva, I don't need any more showtunes in my head right now. LOL Been a while since I listened to Les Mis, but the music is wonderful

oops, forgot to add--I loved the intro, how you showed the three characters in beat with the music and also the scenes where you showed the "three shot"--Aeryn between Crais and Crichton and then Crichton between Aeryn and Crais.

Wow!!! Wow!! That was great! Farscape the musical. I was actually holding my breath through part of that. You chose the perfect scenes to build with the music and a perfect song to illustrate GEM. very, very creative. This one is a keeper--I loved the music and the video. You captured the expressions on the characters faces with the music/lyrics matching the scenes. Just perfect. And in my head, I thought--mm, Lani, Claudia and Ben singing this song...it could work... Okay, anyone want to take on Le Miserables??

Whoohoo! People are doing Scarlet Pimpernel songs! Chauvelin really reminds me of Crais in a lot of ways and if you've got the musical... Falcon in the Dive, am I crazy or is that not a complete and utter Crais season one song? Terrance Mann even SOUNDS like Crais. (I am such a theatre geek.) Great vid, great choice of song. I repeat - whoohoo!

Whoo! I love the vocal power and energy behind a song from a musical. :D This is outstanding and I can see what a challenge it was to edit! The trio of voices interweaving, the question of who's with who, who can you trust, and what's really going on between these characters is an excellent pairing with GEM! I love it! Now I have to go find this CD and see the play. ;)
