DECLARES 'WAR' ON THE COMPETITION
SCI FI Miniseries Premieres #1
Among P18-49 and P25-54
New York, NY (October 19, 2004) -- The fans have spoken. They
frelling love their Farscape. The two-night, four-hour
Farscape:
The
Peacekeeper Wars (Oct. 17-18 @ 9-11pm ET/PT) premiere averaged
a 1.7
HH rating/1,916,000 P2+, making SCI FI the #1 non-sports
cable
network for P25-54
and P18-49 for the time period over the two nights.
SCI FI trounced its competition among P25-54, outdelivering
TNT (24%), TBS (45%) and Spike TV (42%). They fared
no better among
P18-49, with SCI FI outperforming TNT (32%), TBS (27%)
and Spike TV (35%).
Peacekeeper Wars delivered an aggregate audience of
6,883,000 viewers over the two nights (4 telecasts
of Night One,
3 telecasts of Night
Two).
With a 1.5 HH rating/1,735,000 P2+, Night One of Peacekeeper
Wars was up 81% in HH ratings and scored triple digit
increases in key
demos versus the time period average for October
2003:
• +163% in P25-54
• + 202% in P18-49
Night Two of the mini soared even higher, delivering a 1.9
HH rating/2,097,000 P2+ (Oct. 18 @9-11pm ET/PT). It improved
upon the
previous night's premiere by:
• +30% in HH rating
• +25% in P18-49
• +20% in P25-54

Cry of Fans and Critics Alike is Answered As New Farscape Special
Even Miniseries is Announced by Sci-Fi to Premiere in Fall.
The
critically acclaimed adventure sci-fi series Farscape will soon
be back on the airwaves in the form of a television special event
miniseries - Farscape: Peacekeeper War. In response to fans' overwhelming
support for the Farscape franchise, SCI FI Channel announced yesterday
that it will be airing the 4-hour miniseries produced by The Jim
Henson Company in conjunction with Hallmark Entertainment. The two-part
program was directed and executive produced by Brian Henson, and
written and executive produced by series creator Rockne S. O'Bannon
and David Kemper. In addition to Henson, O'Bannon and Kemper, all
of the key creative talent, both in front of and behind the camera,
that made Farscape so unique and special, will return.
"This
special television event would not be a reality were it not for
the tireless, unwavering efforts of the Farscape fans to bring the
series back. Like all of of us at The Jim Henson Company, they believed
that the epic story we were telling was something special and deserved
a proper ending. We are thrilled to respond to their dedication

Sci Fi Wire is reporting
this morning:
SCI
FI Brings Back Farscape SCI FI announced it will be bringing
back Farscape with an all-new miniseries ‹ called Farscape:
Peacekeeper War ‹ slated to air in the fourth quarter of this
year. The four-hour miniseries picks up where the cliffhanger
series finale left off and will reunite John Crichton (Ben
Browder), Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) and the rest of the Moya
crew.
Farscape
creator Rockne O'Bannon and executive producer David Kemper
wrote the miniseries, which was directed by Brian Henson.
"Peacekeeper War" was produced by the Jim Henson Company and
Hallmark Entertainment, and executive produced by Robert Halmi
Jr. SCI FI will make the official announcement at noon on
Monday, April 5, during the channel's advertising sales "upfront"
presentation.
Farscape
Fantasy is monitoring the situation and will post information
as quickly as possible.
